Internal report shows leak at Chongqing nuclear power plant in China

There was a nuclear leak reported at a nuclear powerplant in Chongqing, China according to an internal (not public) report. This news has not been verified.

Some high-level managers had been evacuated after the internal report.

There is no Chinese official report on this.

The exact location was not specified, but there is one nuclear power plant found on Baidu.com called Chongqing Fuling Nuclear Power Plant located in Fuling, China.

With the outbreak of novel coronavirus in China, we should not take anything lightly in terms of abnormal activities in China to prepare for unthinkable disasters. We hope it is just a leak in a civilian nuclear power plant, not a military nuclear facility.

Wikipedia shows an “abandoned” military nuclear base in the same place called Fuling.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/816_Nuclear_Military_Plant

816 Nuclear Military Plant (simplified Chinese: 816地下核工厂; traditional Chinese: 816地下核工廠), is an unfinished Chinese underground nuclear weapons production facility and the largest man-made tunnel structure in the world.[1] A military megaproject, the nuclear base is located near what is now suburban Fuling, a municipality in Southwest China. In 2010, it was opened to Chinese tourists. It is a distinct network of nuclear-weapons manufacturing tunnels to the likewise defunct Underground Project 131 and the still operational, “Underground Great Wall of China.”
