Can a granny subvert a regime?

“Granny Wong” (Wong Fung Yiu), who had been seen actively waving the British flag at the scene of the protest, has been missing since she was arrested at the Taikoo MTR station on August 11 this year.

Stand News received a message from Granny Wong, saying that she has been on bail pending her trial in Shenzhen. She hinted that she was held in custody in the detention center.

On November 26, the Security Bureau responded to the inquiry from Stand News and refused to comment on whether the Bureau had received any notification of the arrest of any Hong Kong people from the Mainland authority.

The Bureau stressed that under the principle of “one country two systems”, “the HKSAR Government will not and should not interfere with the Mainland law enforcement operation.”

But can the mainland interfere with the HKSAR Government under the principle of “one country two systems”? Can a granny subvert a regime? Why is the CCP afraid of an old lady? We call for the early release of all arrested persons, including granny Wong.
