Lord Alton: Arrving in Hong Kong to monitor elections

Hong Kong – Lord Alton was invited by pro-democracy groups in Hong Kong to monitor their elections. According to his Facebook post on Nov. 23, he said:

After contesting seven parliamentary elections and several local government elections, you could say that a passion for democracy and elections is in my blood…

I recently initiated a 3 hour Parliamentary debate on Hong Kong. During that debate I set out my serious concerns about the emasculation of two systems one country – and Hong Kong’s basic freedoms.
