Just as Chinese soldiers left their barracks to remove protesters’ barricades in the afternoon, Hong Kong Police targetted another University in the city.
In the evening, tension arose as the police enclosed the Tsim Sha Tsui area. Seeing the police previous attack on other universities, protesters were on guard to protect the Polytechnic University located in Tsim Sha Tsui East.
Before midnight, police entered the university after shooting tear gas canisters into the campus.
Nevertheless, the move of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army still shocks many as it breached Article 14 of the Basic Law, the mini-constitution of Hong Kong, where the “one country, two systems” policy holds.
