Being a reporter in Hong Kong today is more dangerous than serving as a war correspondent in the Middle East. The latter has been protected by Geneva Conventions, while the former is subject to inhuman police brutality and lynches.
The photo coverages spread widely in social media today revealed how much journalists in Hong Kong were suffering from the thuggish police force. Unfortunately, Hong Kong Journalist Association is too weak to protect its members; it took no action for the journalist being physically attacked or tortured by HKPF on May 10th, including the female journalist being lynched by riot police in a public toilet. It was netzines and the homeless who witnessed and recorded the outrageous crimes committed by the riot police.
