The Eastern District Council was scheduled to hold a meeting convened by the Review of Police Enforcement and Special Operation Committee on March 10. However, the Hong Kong Police Force refused to send officers to attend.
The Civil Affairs Bureau then informed the District Council that they received instructions from the management to cancel the meeting.
26 pro -democracy camp members in the District Council criticised police power has overridden the functions of the District Council elected. The elected councilors said that they will insist the investigation into police violence.
