Public shows support to medical staff’s plan to go on strike

Uncle Chan of Ma Shi Po, who has confronted with landlords and government for more than 2 decades, distributed white ribbon on February 1 at the New Town Plaza in Shatin, Hong Kong, called on citizens to support medical staff’s plan to go strike next Monday.

Chan said that the life of medical staff should not be used as a shield for the government’s dereliction of duty. It was hopeful that the strike could assert pressure on the government to implement a full border lockdown with mainland China.

Chen pointed out that the government is unscrupulous and “untrustworthy”. Hong Kong people must unite on their own. He also questioned Bureau Head, Sophia Chan’s failure to tackle the shortage of face mask, disregarding health and safety of local population.

In agitation, Chan lamented that citizens in Hong Kong cannot resign to their doom. He repeatedly accused senior government officials of being “mediocre” and paying just lip service to local citizens. He dared senior officials to work with doctors and medical staff in the frontline to cope with the epidemics.
